Sunday Message: Halloween and All Saint’s Day are just around the corner this weekend. Christian communities that have endured cultural colonization and are reclaiming the task of holy remembering our ancestors have many opportunities throughout our liturgical year to uplift the ancestors, the martyrs of resistance, and the saints of liberation. This Sunday, we will do so by going back to the creation story in Genesis. How we frame our past can set the trajectory of how we live out our faith today. And we will ask ourselves: is our God the god of force, might, and empires? Or is our God a creative force of life, co-creation, and nurture?
