This Sunday, our lectionary from A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church takes us to the story of Eli’s sons who abuse their religious power for economic and sexual gain, and to the story of the wealthy young man who could not relinquish his possessions to follow Jesus. While money itself is not inherently evil, our relationship to the power and privileges we hold can disconnect us from the Kindom movement. So what kind of a world can we build with what we do have?
